I've been dreaming of doing an empowerment session for a mom for about a year, and when Amber answered the call, I knew this was going to be so good. Although we had to reschedule a few times because of Mother Nature, our paths finally aligned, and I truly believe we were meant to meet. Even though Amber came in for a model call, what unfolded was much deeper. She was able to see herself in a way she never imagined. It was beautiful watching her embrace her own power and see herself through a new, empowering lens.

As mothers, we carry so much on our shoulders—caring for our children, nurturing our relationships, juggling work, supporting others and so much more. The weight of all these roles can feel overwhelming, and during it all, we sometimes lose sight of who we are at our core. But there’s something grounding about photography. It offers us a chance to pause, breathe, and reconnect with ourselves, especially when we can do it solo. It’s more than just a snapshot; it’s an invitation to “see” ourselves again. It’s not just about what we look like, but about capturing our spirit, our strength, and even our moments of vulnerability. Photography gives us the space to step back and appreciate the depth of who we are.

When we allow ourselves to be vulnerable in front of the camera, we’re not just telling our own story; we’re creating space for other women to do the same. Each image becomes a moment of "This is me, as I am."

Take that moment. Step in front of the camera and let it capture your story, your strength, and your truth. Whether it’s in the comfort of your home, by the pool, near a waterfall in the Catskills, or surrounded by the quiet woods of Oneonta—wherever you feel most like yourself. Where do you want to see you again?

No matter the location, you’ll be amazed at the woman you rediscover and the light she carries within her.
